Commercial Manager

Job Purpose: 

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth, maximizing revenue opportunities, and managing key commercial relationships across the organization. You will develop and implement commercial strategies, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment between product, sales, marketing, and customer-facing functions to achieve the company’s long-term commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s commercial strategy to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, and forecasting of commercial activities to ensure alignment with corporate financial goals. 
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to support business expansion and market penetration. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define business objectives and align commercial strategies with broader company goals.
  • Lead and manage commercial teams across multiple functions, including sales, marketing, pre-sales, and customer success, to ensure seamless operations and delivery of results. 
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Work closely with product and operations teams to identify market opportunities and drive product or service enhancements that meet customer demands. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, optimizing processes, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction. 
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for commercial teams to drive performance, engagement, and talent retention. 
  • Represent the company in negotiations, high-level meetings, and key industry events to enhance the organization’s commercial reputation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. 
  • 6+ years of experience in a commercial leadership role, with a proven track record of driving growth, managing complex relationships, and delivering results. 
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial strategy, business development, and sales management across various channels (B2B, B2C, or both). 
  • Strong experience in contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial partnerships. 
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams to achieve commercial goals. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Experience in market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to drive strategic business decisions. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
